one person did something bad who happens to be Muslim, Christian, Jewish, does not mean all Muslim, Christian, Jewish people are bad. Or that all people or bad. Or all brown haired people are bad.
Look at people and judge them based on what THEY do, not what some label says they do.
I’m in a sorority. I don’t tell people I’m a member anymore because I got tired of smallminded people judging me based on my affiliation. I’m not a snob at all. Maybe a tad bit elitist, definitely liberal and politically minded, but not a snob. I do service. I help other people. I try to make my corner of the world a better place. I have yet to meet one snob that does that.
I’m black. That’s the skin I was given. Just because some black people act a fool with their pants on the ground doesn’t mean I do or even have the inclination to. Just like I don’t assume all white people are rednecks or marrying their cousins.
As a world, we need to think more broadly about people and view them as individuals. To do otherwise tampers pride people have in themselves, avoids real human interaction and makes the world a more oppressive place.
